Do Ceramic Coatings Need to be Maintained?

You just spent a decent amount of money. Your car, truck, or SUV looks beautiful. BUT…. There is one simple truth about ceramic coatings and the clear bra that some installers hide, but we are upfront about it. They are, in fact, low maintenance, but they are not no maintenance.

How Can You Call It a 7 Year Coating if it need maintained?

Random Customer

Consider the vehicle you just purchased. Depending on the manufacturer, it may have a 3-year or 36,000-mile “Bumper to Bumper” warranty. If you drive that vehicle 25,000 miles over two years, never change the oil, check the fluids, or do any maintenance, and you have an issue, chances are you will be told you are out of luck. Warranties have requirements.

Ceramic Pro has a great section on how to maintain your coating, tint or paint protection film. We highly suggest having a look.

Washing Your Vehicle

The best way to wash your vehicle is to hand wash it. The use of American Global detail spray or Ceramic Pro CARE is a great addition to your washing routine. You can also take it through a brushless car wash. We like the manual car washes like the one behind City Market in Fruita. In fact, we have used it, but we bring our own supplies. This article covers how to maintain your coated vehicle.

Washing in the Winter

We offer an affordable hand wash, exterior detail, or weekly wash program. We also offer a rinsless wash product for those who prefer to do it themselves.

Annual Maintenance

We strongly suggest having us detail your vehicle once a year. In most cases, this is a requirement of your warranty, and we have a special package designed to give you the most from your coating.

Avoiding Pitfalls

Grand Junction is HOT in the summer. Parking under a tree is a bad idea. Tree sap is one of the hardest things to get off of your vehicle. A better idea is ceramic window tint and a Weathertech shade for the windshield. We can help with both!

Water spots caused by irrigation water also pose an issue. If you can, avoid parking where sprinklers will hit your vehicle. It is also important to properly dry your vehicle completely any time you wash it.

Bird droppings and insects should also be removed regularly. We have products that can help with this as well. Ceramic-coated vehicles withstand bird droppings and bugs much better than paint alone, but it is always better to maintain them
