Window Tint by The Numbers
Colorado law says you need at least 27% visible light transmittance (VLT ) in order for your window tinting to be legal. In most films, that means applying a 35% window film.
Colorado does not allow windshield tinting except for the top 4″ at 70% VLT or better

Typical Dyed film will block little to no UV rays and only blocks 27% of the IR rays that make your vehicle hot.
